independence day- a photo journal

We spent 4th of July weekend in St. Louis and were able to see all the grandparents, BJ was able to meet our nephew, Elijah, for the 1st time, we went to wedding of a long time family friend, and swam a lot!!!! We also thought we were getting prepared for the apocalypse as the power went out Friday night, we were on a boil water advisory Saturday thru Sunday, then Sunday there was a crazy windy, thunderstorm!!!!

On the 4th we drove to Columbia to spend the day with BJ's family and were able to see BJ's best friend from highschool and meet his fiance. It was a good day, however I don't know if the kids were ready for the fireworks. We only bought a little 'kiddie bag' and a few roman candles. BJ threw some snapping pops on the ground and Sadie ran inside screaming. I had to coax her back out by having her watch BJ do smoke bombs. She eventually came out and somewhat enjoyed the fountains and parachutes while seeking refuge in Grandpa John's lap. Asher on the other hand liked them a little too much and kept running towards them!!!
